Smitten with you ,,,,

I was digging threw some old pictures and found this and realized I never posted it.  The base nail color is Smitten With Mittens by OPI and topped with a practice Konad.  I think for Christmas this year I want a red and white look similar to this, but of course more holiday oriented.

The Hello Kitty was yuck - the little beads I used for her eyes made her look like a scary alien LOL.  The rest wasn't bad and I like to post all my attempts even when they are disastrous.  My Finger is healing well, but I can't put nail polish or nail polish remover anywhere near it so I will just have to be patient and leave my nails unpainted for a bit.

Thanks for visiting guys ...more to come (even with a hurt finger) lol.

Essie Bordeaux....and some PAIN lol

I know it's been awhile since I posted but I now have a VERY BUSY Holiday job and I barely have time to breathe these days hehehehe, but I'm trying to do my best til the pace slows down in January :)

Here are some pics of my last manicure.  These are not my best pictures, but I had to go with them.  Here is the 'PAIN' part of my post.  Just after I did the manicure I was chopping potatoes and my kitty distracted me for just a second and I cut my finger badly. I almost took the tip off my left hand index finger :( I cut it so bad it's still bleeding (2 days later). It's a very tiny cut, but its very deep. These pictures were taken just before that happened.  I planned to retake the pictures but my finger now is a mess and way too graphic so I'm going with the original pics.

I LOVE LOVE THIS COLOR!! It's GORGEOUS to say the least, and the formula is so amazing that it makes me wanna run out and buy a ton of Essie lol.

Pure Bliss! I'm so in love with this color.

I guess I will have to start taking pictures of my opposite hand until my cut heals.  It should be interesting to switch hands lol.

Thanks so much for visiting and stay tuned if you're a LUSH lover.  I have an awesome post coming in the next couple of days for LUSH.

My Nail Polish Makeup Room :)

First, I want to apologize for my absence.  I finally got a full time job and I'm actually working 2 jobs now - over 60 hours a week. Adjusting to doing that, running my blog, doing my nails and ....AND making time for real life LOL!! Needless to say, it's a tough one hahaha - so I'm working on it.  Thank you all for continuing to follow and sticking it out with me!

Second, I wanted to show you my completed Makeup and Nail Polish Room. I am so excited about sharing this.  A lot of blood sweat and tears went into converting this room lol, and I'm so proud of it.  This post is not for bragging rights - I just wanted to share with my fellow nail polish lovers my new little space in life.

Many of you may not know, so I will give you a little history.  I had an extra spare bedroom in my home that was not being used.  It basically had a bed in it and a double closet filled with junk. The room was so drab and unlived in, and one day I got the idea to set this up as Makeup and Nail Polish Area for myself. Please be aware that this is a pretty long post with lots of pictures! So sorry to my dail-up followers.
So enough blah blah and on to the room lol.  Here are the results.....(please note: you can click on any of the pictures to make them larger for a closer look)

This is the first part of the room, and my favorite part (okay I love it all), but I love having a TV in my room to keep me company when I'm doing my nails :) The TV stand was purchased at Lowe's and YES it has a fake fireplace lol.  This room tends to be a little cool in the winter time, so I love the option of being able to turn on the fireplace and watch the flames dance around while I get all warm and toasty.

The stand up Mirror to the left was purchased at Sutterlands and I was lucky and caught a 50% off sale.  This gorgeous real wood frame mirror only cost me 50$!!! I just couldn't pass it up. I can not get dressed without having a full view of myself before I run out the door, such a lovely option to have.

The picture above the TV I purchased at a picture shop when I was at Lake of The Ozarks in Missouri - 30 dollars! Talk about a bargain.  I love Marylin Monroe and I knew I wanted to cover my walls with as many pictures of her as I could.

The two collage pictures to the right and left of the TV I made myself. I purchased the frames at Bed Bath and Beyond and clipped pictures from magazines. Here is a close up of those too. This is an awesome cheap way to decorate your room.

These were kinda hard to snap pictures of on a sunny day with sunlight shining in from my windows. Excuse the glare :)

Next up is the area where I keep my Helmer and Side table that contain all my polish items.

This end table (and the Helmer) where both Purchased at Ikea.  The red globe light as well.  The little basket with my remotes in them was purchased at Hobby Lobby.

Here is a close up of the items I have in my side table.

This is where I keep all my items for doing a full manicure.  I wont list everything here, but if you have any questions as to what is what - just leave it in the comments and I will let you know.

The above picture I love so much so I just had to share it too.  I also purchased this at Lake of The Ozarks, MO. It looks like it was hand painted (with brush strokes visible) and I got it in a cute shop for only 9$'s. I just had to have it since it goes so nicely with my theme :)

To the left of my helmer I have a queen size bed.  I sometimes have stay over night guests that love this room and it's a great spot for watching the TV.  The bed set is a Steve Madden and was purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond during Valentine's Day 2010.  It was perfect and exactly the design I was looking for. I can not tell you how many sets I looked at before I choose this lol.

Next is the closet...yes the closet LOL....

Here is where all the magic happens LOL.  This is a double closet with the doors removed.  An awesome place to do my hair, makeup and nails without taking space inside the room itself. The table and mirror where purchased at Ikea and The swivel chair is from Bed Bath and beyond.  The side currents are one of my favorite parts of this area.  I wanted something elegant but as you all know curtain panels can get really expensive.  I was lucky and found these at my local Lowe's for 13$'s a panel! The walls are painted Ed Hardy Pink lol.  I used an Ed Hardy perfume bottle that I took to Lowe's to have them color match. The guy thought I was a little crazy hahahaha, but I love the color. I love the red and pink combination so much and I hope you guys like it too.  I wanted girly but elegant and I'm hoping I did that.  Let me know what you think - even if it's vomit inducing for you lol.

Here's a closer look at the inside of the closet....

Hangs head in shame at the empty nail polish rack on wall lol. Since these pictures have been taken - the rack is now full.  It's actually a spice rack - and I thought it made for a great polish rack.

To the left of my nail/makeup table I added more needed storage.

I purchased this at Ikea as well and it houses so much stuff I can't begin to list it all hahaha.  If you guys are interested in the insides, leave me a comment and I can always do an additional post and show you what's in my drawers lol.  But I will only do that if you guys ask.

To the right of my nail/makeup table is yet MORE storage. You can never have enough :)

This cabinet was purchased at Bed Bath and beyond.  This houses my perfumes up top and all my hair products below.  If you had the same dry, frizzy out of control unruly hair that I have - you would need all this too and more LOL. It's actually been collected over a long period of time and NO I don't use it all at once hehehe.

Next is a close up of my very tiny perfume collection ...

and here is all my hair products....

Phew - that was a lot.  If you made it this far you are a tropper :) finally here are a few loft over random shots

Thank you so much for taking a room tour with me.  I hope you guys like how it all turned out.  I have been working hard to get it completed.  I have ALWAYS wanted an area like this forever.  I tried to include as much info as I could, but just let me know in the comments if you need to know any details on anything.  I love looking at others projects and writing down where things come from so I can duplicate them, so I tried to include info on as much as I could.  If you have any questions please leave them in the comments and I will do my best to answer.

So did I do good? does it make you want to vomit hehehe? I would love to hear what you all think!

Thanks!!!

Just Wing IT

I am soooooooo sorry for the long absence, but things have been HECTIC around here. I'm still polishing away as always, but now I just have to force myself to take pictures lol.

I am very excited about my most recent purchase and I wanted to share it with you all. I'm not sure many of you know this, but I have been unemployed for several months now. Let me tell you that STINKS when it comes to keeping up with my polish collection lol.  It's so hard to not be able to buy polish when you want, so it's been tough. I won't be out of work for much longer, but meanwhile it's been VERY hard on the polish collection. I figured I had to come up with some sort of a solution for the interim.  So, I started using Swagbucks.  Simply it's a search engine that pays you to use them. You collect points and trade them in for Paypal cash or Amazon Gift cards (even Sephora Gift Cards).  To date I have collected just about 50$ in Amazon Cash and 20$'s in PayPal Cash. Guys that's 70 dollars in just over a month FREE!

Here is my first purchase with my free Amazon Gift Card....(how exciting hehehehe)

OPI- WING IT
This is just simply gorgeous and I was so excited that I HAD to snap pictures of it.

What a beauty :) And I will be doing a full mani with this so stay tuned for pics from that as well.

I took a few angles so you can see the outrageous depth this polish has.

This cost me nothing with my Swagbucks money! Totally Free.

YUMMMY.....

If your interested in joining Swagbucks to earn some free cash for yourself just click HERE to read my original post that explains a little about it. Or click the Swagbucks link in my left side bar and get started right away.

I also have a bunch of fun stuff planned for the next few weeks.  I finally finished my makeup and polish room and I will be posting pictures for you all.  It will be several post, so keep your eyes peeled.  I will also be having a giveaway once I hit 200 followers. FUN FUN FUN. Stay tuned....

Yester...year :)

I wanted to take a small walk down memory lane.  I was just going over my past blog posts, and I wanted to bring back one of my Fav Konadicures that I ever did.  This was posted on my blog when I first started out blogging, and I think I had 2 followers at the time lol.  I think most of you have not seen this so I just had to share it again :)

I did this for the NCAA Basketball Tournament in March.  I was trying to get a sneaker and basketball look all in one :)

Base Polish: Nicole by OPI - Fresh Squeezed (3 Coats)
Stripes: Orly Shine (1 Coat)
Konad Black special Polish
Konad Plate: M7

(Notes: This was done on a week old mani for testing but I loved it so much)

I hope everyone has a wonderful and very safe Labor Day Weekend!

and FINALLY (lol) - Models Own Emerald City

I actually placed an order months ago for these and I'm so glad I did. This color is BEYOND amazing. Emerald City. To me it flash both green and blue - depending on the light. I took some in direct Sunlight and some in Shade.  I identified Sun and Shade on the pictures so it's clear.

How Gorgeous is this.  Pics of this is tough. I know in some I look a little "orange" but if you have the color off it looks blue, so there is no way to avoid it. I rather the polish have an accurate color more than my skin LOL. It's a very flashy bright green for sure. Like a Shamrock green - MONEY green and I apologize I did my best on the pics, just add more true green :)

Now for some Shade Shots

I LOVE THIS POLISH. Hope you guys love this polish as much as I do.  Remember you have til midnight to order Models Own at 50% off til Midnight (check Facebook for correct time zones). It's a great time to grab one up for yourself if you don't own this. The Code is: FACEBOOK50 to be used at checkout.

Thanks for visiting!!!

Free Nail Polish??

Okay Okay - I know all of you have heard many times before there are ways to get free stuff online, but most of it is a serious scam (at least that's my experience).  You have to fill out all these weird surveys and give out your personal information to several unknown companies that just turn around and end up spamming your inbox, and you never get anything in return. Well I found something that is not a scam, and I have gotten FREE NAIL POLISH with it :) Yup you heard me right ...FREE.

A friend sent me over to it. I was hesitant at first, but decided what the heck I'll give it a try since I trust her and know she wouldn't send me somewhere strange lol.. Well it is not a scam at all (I would never promote this unless I knew for sure it wasn't).  It's called Swagbucks and if you use there search engine (just like you use Google and Yahoo for your daily searches on the internet) you earn what are called Swagbucks. You use your Swagbucks and trade them in for PAYPAL dollars, Amazon.com gift cards and even Sephora Gift cards.  Then you can turn around and use the gift cards to buy FREE nail polish. Akkkk - how cool is that! And ....if you're a little insane :P and want something else other than nail polish, then there are all kinds of great gift cards to grab. Some people I have met using it are saving up for a free WII system :)

Again this is not a scam - I promise you. I little pinky swear. I'm an everyday normal person and would never do anything scammy (especially to my faithful readers). It does take some time to accumulate Swagbucks, but who cares, in the end you end up with free stuff for something you where doing anyways (searching on the internet).  It's a great idea even for a Christmas fund, where people save up all year then cash out at one time for Holiday gifts.

Her are a few fun facts about using Swagbucks....

1. Treasure hunting - The fun part is daily codes that help you gather up additional Swagbucks (outside of just using the search engine).  Most of the codes you have to treasure hunt to find and it's so fun. There is a huge community on Twitter and Facebook to follow along with other players. I love that part - I love hunting for codes!

2. You can earn bonus Swagbcuks just for shopping at your fav places online. Just a few places that honor this are LUSH.com, Sally's Beauty.com and even Sephora. That's just fabulous - lol.  You earn 2 Swagbucks for ever dollar you spend at those online shops. There are also tons more retailers (over 100) in there shopping section. The Swagbucks pile up when you you utilize that feature.

3. You can take daily surveys (that I love to do).  They are safe and stored right on the home page on your account.  I just did one where you get to watch TV commercials and let them know what you think of them. CHA CHING 150 Swagbucks in 15 minutes lol. An Amazon.com 5$ Gift card is 450 Swagbucks so you can easily get it to add up just doing surveys.

If you're interested in it just click the link in my left sidebar or click HERE. Yes I do benefit from referrals (I get extra Swagbucks) but you benefit too.  You start with 30 free Swagbucks using my link (instead of 0).

Thanks for listening to me babble about my new obsession of Swagbucks.  I'm currently unemployeed so for me a dollar is a dollar and I got 10$'s in less than a few weeks. It's free nail polish for me.

(UPDATE ON TOTALS: 20$ PAYPAL and 50$ AMAZON as of Sept 20 - 2010)

This went on so smoothly and easily that I swear it could have easily been a one coater ***gasps*** lol.  The color is fabulous too. This is Raspberry Crush and It's a def full on CRUSH for me :)

It's pure beauty and ordering from the UK was so worth it.  I love this formula!.

Okay Okay - now on to the secret part :) I am headed off to Chicago for the weekend to the CHA Convention (Craft and Hobby Association).  My Big Secret is that I am not only addicted to nail polish but I'm addicted to making cards too.  I actually have a blog for that as well.  If your are interested, head on over and check it out DoodleDee Designs.  That's my big secret LOVING the card making and scrapbooking.

China Glaze Towel Boy Toy

WARNING: Pedicure pictures below, so please run now if that freaks you out lol.

Today I have on China Glaze Towel Boy Toy Neon blue, and I love it! I actually had to cheat and I had a professional manicure and pedicure today, and these are the results. She did paint closer to my cuticle then I do, but I think it looks messy and lots of my skin is painted lol. I didn't do any cleanup so you can see what it truly looked like leaving the salon. I'm leaving for vacation shortly and I just needed something quick, I now regret not doing it myself. I'm going to have to take out my cleanup brush and try and get this polish job looking exceptionable and the polish off of my skin lol.

Also I can't even think about how unsanitary the place was. If I don't get an infection it will be a miracle lol. She didn't like that I had my own polish (uh? that was never an issue before), She did not like that I made her clean any tools that touched me, they looked gross!!! She also didn't like that I wouldn't let her cut my cuticles. To make it all worse, she put on NO BASE COAT on!!! She put polish straight on the nail with nothing else!!!! Ughhh...I'm going to have smurf fingers for sure. I have never had such a horrible experience in my life! I tried explaining etc but she didn't speak English :( I was so frustrated I just wanted to get out as soon as I could. Then the topper she charged me 45$!!! I almost fainted. I have to say I'm shocked. I must really be out of the loop - those prices are insane. I could have bought a ton of drugstore polish for that. I learned a harsh lesson today DO IT YOURSELF or don't do it at all hahaha. I have to leave soon so I can't even redo it all. Soon as I get to my vacation destination I want it all off and going to change it elsewhere. I pray I find a better place.

PEDICURE SHOTS AHEAD
The only good thing about today is my new shoes. Here are my new shoes and my bad pedicure lol.

and finally my flip flop shot lol

I have the ugliest toes of all time so sorry if this scares you LOL! :)

Thanks for visiting!

PS - If you get a chance please check out my Models Own Nail Polish Haul video I made yesterday if you missed it. See post below this one for the video :)
